Intel shares fell 1.3% to $46.18 on thin volume as Nvidia's deepening partnership with Meta Platforms raised fresh concerns about the chipmaker's data center dominance. Trading volume reached just 63.2 million shares—52% below Intel's 130.7 million average—as the stock briefly touched $45.46 intraday.

The Nvidia-Meta collaboration centers on deploying Nvidia's Grace CPUs in what's billed as the first large-scale data center implementation of the technology. With power efficiency becoming critical for data centers, Nvidia's performance-per-watt advantage poses a direct challenge to Intel's historical stronghold.

Despite beating Q4 EPS estimates ($0.15 vs. $0.08 expected), Intel faces headwinds with a 4.2% year-over-year revenue decline. Analyst sentiment remains cautious with a 'Reduce' consensus and $45.74 average price target, though recent coverage suggests $48.21.

Institutional moves show mixed signals: Vanguard and State Street increased positions last quarter, while an Intel EVP sold $981K in shares during February's tech rally.
